Le programme Formath Vietnam a été fondé en 1996 à l'initiative des mathématiciens Français et Vietnamiens Frédéric Pham (Nice), Nguyen Thanh Van et Jean Pierre Ramis (Toulouse), Bernard Malgrange (Grenoble), Ha Huy Khoai et Dinh Dung (Hanoi). Il a donné lieu a plusieurs PICS du CNRS, successivement coordonnés à Nice, Toulouse et Paris 13.
Le 01 janvier 2011 a été créé le Laboratoire International associé LIA Formath Vietmam (LIAFV) dans le but de prolonger et amplifier cette collaboration scientifique. Ce LIA a été renouvelé en janvier 2015 sous le même format. La direction de ce LIA a été assurée par L. Schwartz jusqu'en septembre 2017, puis J.S. Dhersin, tous les deux professeurs à l'université de Paris 13.
Depuis janvier 2019, le LIA Formath Vietnam a intégré un nouveau partenaire: Singapour. Il se nomme donc désormais
LIA FORMATH VIETNAM SINGAPORE (LIAFVS)
et est dirigé par M. Peigné, professeur à l'université de Tours.
Objectifs
En s'appuyant sur les collaborations scientifiques de qualité qui existent, le lIA Formath Vietnam Singapore a pour objectif

de développer la coopération entre les écoles mathématiques françaises, vietnamiennes et de Singapour;

d'attirer des jeunes vers les mathématiques, par des actions en amont et en aval de la thèse (écoles de Masters, soutien pour des séjours doctoraux et post-doctoraux, échanges de chercheurs), congrès, etc....

de développer les mathématiques appliquées dans cette coopération.

d'apporter un soutien aux masters vietnamos-français et aux écoles thématiques niveau master et doctorats en mathématiques au Vietnam et à Singapour.
Ce réseau est organisé comme un laboratoire sans mur, non limité à un seul site géographique, et transverse aux institutions
Open Positions 2019
The Institute of Mathematics of the CNRS (INSMI) should be able as last year to offer a limited number of research positions in 2018, available to foreign visitors from the “UMI’s”, “LIA’s” or “GDRI's”. These positions are for three months (shorter visits cannot be funded under this scheme).
Invitations can be extended at any seniority level (assistant, associate or full professors).
The offer is open to all non-French academics, member or not of your UMI, LIA or GDRI: however, a clear connection with the scientific activity of the UMI/LIA/GDRI should appear in the file. We do not yet know the precise number of positions we shall be able to offer.
Application files should contain:
- A Vitae (with list of publications).
- A specific scientific project for the visit.
- Tentative dates of stay.
- The candidates should also contact the laboratory they want to visit in France and include an approval from its director.
